Bluelucy specializes in ART, DESIGN & WEB.

Bluelucy is the creative partnership of Chad Mize and Phillip Clark.

CHAD MIZE
Born July 15, 1974, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 1994, while attending The University of Mississippi, Mize had an assignment to create a brand. It was for this project that he created Bluelucy. What began as a fictional name brand, started appearing in Chad’s art and eventually became a moniker representing love and positivity.

In 1997, Mize moved to Boston to pursue a career in art. After a few years of working in character illustration he was hired by an online animation company. Through this experience Chad honed his flash and multimedia design skills. This knowledge allowed Mize to be on the forefront of new media. He used the internet to connect with his audience and broadcast his message.

In 2001, through a Cambridge based artist group, Mize met Phillip Clark. The two quickly realized they shared a vision and a common goal. Together they evolved Bluelucy into a full service design studio and international art brand. For nine years their creative partnership has been an example of a whole being greater than the sum of its parts.

Chad Mize attended the University of Mississippi and graduated with a BFA in Fine Arts. Currently he has over 10 years professional experience in design, animation, painting, illustration, art direction, and character development.

PHILLIP CLARK
Born December 22, 1974, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The son of a highly decorated Army Lieutenant Colonel, Clark has lived all over the United States. From an early age he was inspired by the American landscape and highway culture. Cross-country road trips offered endless views of logos and brands for anything and everything. Gas stations, motels, junk food and bizarre interstate attractions. These icons were Clark’s first visual obsession and became his inspiration for becoming a designer.

Throughout the early ’90s, Phillip‘s ability for creativity and business opened doors in specialty retail. For over eight years he managed multi-million dollar stores and helped shape corporate visual standards. These experiences became a key foundation of Clark’s unique artistic sensibility. In 1999, Clark moved from Atlanta to Boston to pursue a new career in art and design. He took a job as a designer for local agency and in his spare time connected with the creative culture in Cambridge. Organizing friends and artists, Clark helped form the pro-local-art group, By Local. It was through By Local that Phillip met Chad Mize. What began as a friendship transformed into a dynamic art partnership. Their combined creative vision is known internationally as Bluelucy. From original pop art to graphic and web design – they can create anything.

Phillip Clark currently he has over 8 years professional experience in graphic design, painting, illustration, art direction, visual merchandising, product development, apparel design and screen printing.
